Mechanical clamping device provides an easy method for securing the test specimen. The top plate has a circular
opening where the probe penetrates the sample. The diameter of the circular opening, diameter of the probe and height of the sample holder are all variable ensuring compliance with a wide range of standards including ASTM F-1306.
A clamping ring, with an inside diameter of 44.4 mm holds the sample securely. A cam-type clamping action simplifies sample insertion and removal. As the crosshead moves, a 25.4 mm diameter ball presses against the sample until it bursts. Complies with ASTM D-6797.
A pneumatic clamp eliminates sample slippage and ensures rapid test set-up. An opening of 50.8 mm provides ample spare for loading the samples. An optional foot switch provides hands-free operation. It can be used for wet or dry burst testing. Complies with ASTM D-6548-00, ISO 12625-9:2004 and TAPPI T-570-00
