  • There is a wide range of capacities available
  • There are different widths 1", 2", 3" grip inserts available, and different surfaces (smooth, serrated, rubber covered)
  • Pneumatic operation makes sample insertion faster and easier than manual grips and ensures a contact uniform pressure.

734B

Mechanical Vice Grips

  • The Mechanical Vice Grips are designed for low, medium and high capacity applications
  • The Vice Grips are ideal for general tensile strength testing of paper, plastics, fine metals, textiles and other sheet materials.
  • Various grip insert widths are available

TH256

Mechanical Wedge Action Grips

  • Wedge Action Vice Grips are ideal for tensile strength testing of rigid plastics and composites of flat or round samples
  • The jaw faces are spring loaded for effortless opening and closing of the grip

drumrubber

Drum/Rubber Grips

  • The Drum/Rubber grips are uniquely designed to securely hold flat samples of rubber, plastics, and general polymers.

TH13 Yarn and Cord

Yarn, Rope, Wire & Cord Grips

  • These grips are specifically designed for testing thin, flexible materials. They ensure a secure hold to maximize test result accuracy and repeatability.

Puncture/Burst Fixtures

  • Puncture/Burst Fixtures are available with a variety clamping plates and probes.
  • There are Puncture/Burst Fixtures for plastic films, textiles, and tissue

cof

Coefficient of Friction Fixture,COF Fixture

  • We offer Coefficient of Friction Fixtures and sleds for the EJA Vantage Tensile Tester, QC-3A Materials Tester, and the 1270 PCA Score Bend Tester.
  • The COF Fixture can be used for plastic film, paper, paperboard and more.  Please contact us today.

Compression

Compression Fixtures

  • These compression fixtures are ideal for plastic bottles, aluminum cans, foam materials, and springs.
  • The fixtures include inscribed concentric circles which aid in centered placement of the specimen, and  maximize test result accuracy and repeatability.

Peel

Peel Fixtures

  • Peel Fixtures simplify the testing of adhesive properties of pressure sensitive adhesives, tapes, and labels.
  • These fixtures include 180° Peel Fixture, 90° Peel Fixture, German Wheel, and Loop Tack

flexural

Flexural Rigidity

  • Flexural Bending Fixtures are used to determine stiffness and flexural modulus, flexural strength and flexural yield strength.

Vantage10_chamber

Environmental Chambers

  • Environmental chambers provide the ability to evaluate the effect of temperature on the physical properties of materials.

extensometer

Extensometer

  • High Elongation Extensometer measures strain in elastomeric materials.
  • The extensometer clamps directly on the sample and provides elongations up to 914 mm (36 in).

Proper Grip Selection

  • Choosing the proper grip and grip faces is essential for proper testing.
  • For lightweight materials like tissue and toweling we recommend our 733LW and 734K Grips with smooth faces (both found under Pneumatic Grips.
  • For paper, paperboard, plastic films, and flexible packaging, we recommend our 795 Grips ( up to 212 lb/943 N Capacity).
  • For Paper and paperboard materials, usually one side is smooth and the other is serrated.
  • For film and packaging materials rubber covered inserts are usually recommended.

We also have a wide selection of Vice Grips, Wedge Grips, Yarn & Cord and Fixtures.  Please contact us if you don't see what you ...
